Paula Ilecka

Paula Ilecka-Jozwiak is an artist ceramist based in Co. Waterford. She is MA of Art in Ceramics Design. Honorary awarded by Rector of Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw for The most promising student in Ceramics Art in 2006.
  She creates sleek, contemporary ceramics. She is design a simple shape of vessels, tries to achieve some kind of austerity and softness, throughout maintaining the arch line form, which are inspired by architectural details, like Gothic and Celtic ornaments, especially the decorative motif placed in Tracery called "fish bladder". The symbolism of these ornaments.
 Combination of smooth curves, implement kind of movement, as well as sort of constancy. All those actions are unique and interesting collection of vessels.
 She is produce from different types of materials. Fine sets of table ware made from quality white porcelain, or unique sculptures made from chamotte clay.
 She also use and explore the method of pit firing, the oldest known method of firing pottery. This method gives remarkable surface effects on decorative ware. Unusual designs are imprinted on unglazed clay forms by dancing flames carrying fumes from selected combustible materials and chemicals
